Big action of Excise Department against illegal liquor
Ambikapur 06 February 2025/ District Excise Officer Mr. L.K. Gaikwad informed that as per the instructions of Secretary cum Excise Commissioner Mrs. R. Sangeeta, under the guidance of Collector Mr. Vilas Bhoskar, continuous action is being taken against illegal liquor in the district. In the series of action being taken under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Excise Surguja Division Mr. Vijay Sen Sharma, a major action was taken by the Excise Department on Wednesday.
Under the leadership of Assistant District Excise Officer Mrs. Sheela Bada, Excise Sub Inspector Mr. Anil Gupta In Charge Circle Ambikapur, Excise Sub Inspector Mr. Saurabh Sahu Circle Sitapur and Excise Sub Inspector Mr. Akash Kumar Sahu In Charge Circle Lakhanpur, in a joint operation in Lundra development block, took action against illegal liquor and seized 45 liters of liquor from other states while being transported in Tata Nexon. Liquor was seized from accused Daya Sahu of Lundra police station and as it was a non-bailable offence under Section 34(1)(a), 34(2), 36 and 59(a) of the Excise Act, a case was registered and he was sent to jail in judicial remand. Chief constable Mr. Dinesh Jaiswal, Mr. Mathura Patel, Mr. Ramesh Gupta, Mr. Gambhir Say, Mr. Janmejaya Dubey; constable Mr. Amar Say Bhagat and women city soldiers Geeta Singh and Anju Ekka were involved in the action.
